Doing Business in Lake Delton!

When opening or operating a business in Lake Delton this general list will help, but know that it may not cover all items that you may need to address. Remember to allow adequate time to acquire all the necessary permits and licenses.

• Obtain Federal Tax ID Number.
• Register your business name.
• Obtain Wisconsin Sales and Use Tax Permits.
• Learn about the Premier Resort Tax for this area. All Village of Lake Delton physical addresses have either a Baraboo (53913) or a Wisconsin Dells (53965) Zip Code. • Determine your business location and how the property is zoned.
• Check the Zoning Ordinance see if this type of business is allowed or conditionally allowed in that location.
• Determine what village licenses & permits are required including alcohol related licensing.
• Determine what State or County Licenses (restaurant, hotel, etc..) that you may need.
• Notify the Zoning Administrator of any construction, remodeling plans, or signs necessary and obtain permits if applicable.
• Complete application for utilities, if applicable.
• Overnight lodging requires a Room Tax Permit.
